Sponsorships

As a mutual Savings and Loan Association, Union Federal and its employees try to be very active in the communities we serve. As stated in our Community page, our employees have served on local boards and in local civic and charitable organizations over the years and continue to be very active. The Association not only achieves this goal through its employees, but also by donating to or sponsoring various community, educational, and cultural events. Some of these events and organizations are listed below.

American Cancer Society - Relay for Life

Union Federal has been a sponsor of the Relay for Life event in Kewanee for many years and was a major sponsor for the first four.

Orion Band Shell

We were a major factor in the refurbishment of the Central Park band shell renovation project. The community has brought Bill Allred to perform a jazz concert for the past several years with Union Federal being a major sponsor some of these years.

Kewanee Schools Foundation

Union Federal has been a strong supporter of the Kewanee Schools Foundation since the mid 90s. The foundation has put on many cultural events over these years, and Union Federal has been at the forefront.

Suzy Bogguss performed at the newly renovated Petersen Auditorium in July 2005 with Union Federal as a major sponsor of the event.

Union Federal was a sponsor of the series of Pops concerts held over the past several years featuring the Galesburg symphony.

In 2004 and 2005, we were the title sponsor for American English, a Beatles tribute band.

Union Federal was the main sponsor again in 2006 when the Foundation brought Butch Wax and the Hollywoods to perform in Kewanee.

The Kewanee Schools Foundation has held several successful capital campaigns with Union Federal once again being a significant donor in each. Many projects have been completed by the Foundation over the years including a renovation of the auditorium, a new gymnasium, a renovated wrestling facility, a new strength training room, and a renovated Learning Resource Center.

Abilities Plus

When Abilities Plus kicked off its capital campaign, Union Federal was on board early with a significant sponsorship. Abilities Plus is a wonderful organization in the Kewanee area, which provides much needed assistance for individuals with disabilities.

Black Hawk East College

Black Hawk College's East campus is located just outside of Kewanee, and provides a low cost opportunity for quality education to many area residents. We have been a continued supporter of the College over the years

Just Kids Child Care

Located in Milan, Illinois, Just Kids provides low cost child care for many area residents. Union Federal helped them by contributing to their capital campaign.

Kewanee Hospital

We have committed to help Kewanee Hospital with a donation toward the beautiful new hospital being built on the southwest end of Kewanee.

United Way

The Association has been a very active supporter of the United Way in many of our communities. Union Federal personnel have served as officers, and the Association and its employees have given monetary support each year during the annual campaign.

Union Federal also donates to countless causes throughout the year in the different communities we serve. The Association donates auction items, give-a-ways, and monetary donations to these worthwhile events.

We have always tried to support local schools by sponsoring sports teams, yearbooks, and a wide array of school activities. Association personnel have participated in Junior Achievement programs held at local schools as well as other classes designed to help teach children about banking and finances. We also offer tours of our corporate office to groups of children.
